Makeup for Bachelorette Weekend in Vegas: Part Two

Beauty BFF, Frances (the Bride-to-be), wears Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-Lasting Eye Shadow and Loose Glitter Pigment

The always gorgeous and soon-to-be Newlywed, Frances, let me use some fabulous Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadows on her, during her recent bachelorette weekend extravaganza in Las Vegas. She looked absolutely stunning with Rouge Bunny Rouge soft smokey eyes, and the iridescent golds and champagnes shimmered brightly amongst the Las Vegas lights!

I should begin by saying that I’m not a makeup artist by any means, in fact I’m sort of lost when it comes to applying eye makeup…However, Rouge Bunny Rouge’s eye shadow colors and textures make it incredibly easy and fun to try-out different looks. To best describe the experience of playing with RBR Long-lasting Eye Shadows, I’m going to quote the application description from Zuneta:

“Don’t be fooled by the colours you see in the swatches. Once applied, these eye shadows come to life, dancing with multi-toned pearls and shimmer, resembling the plumage they were inspired by.”

Also, you can get guided instructions for eye makeup applications of various RBR looks on their websites Powder Room Secrets page. Which is exactly what I did before doing Frances’s eye makeup; I based her look off the RBR November 2011 “Beyond the Looking Glass” except I added more golden iridescence to give her a Vegas appropriate dazzling effect!

CREATING THE LAS VEGAS LOOK & PRODUCTS USED…

First I brightened her eyes by applying the dazzling white gold RBR Long-lasting Eye Shadow in UNFORGETTABLE ORIOLE with the RBR Large Shader 003 over the complete eye area up to the crease; blended up and outwards.
Then I used the RBR Mini Shader 005 to apply the same shade to the inner corners of her eyes and along the upper and lower lash lines (inner corners only).

UNFORGETTABLE ORIOLE – Delicate, metallic white gold – Perfect as a highlighting eye shadow or full-on dazzle effect for the evening

For the soft smokey part, I used RBR Loose Glitter Pigments shade ‘EMBRACE OF CASHMERE’, applying the loose glitter with the Large Shader 003 concentrating on the crease blending up and outwards again.
Then I used EMBRACE OF CASHMERE again with a smaller brush to bleed the color along the lower lash line starting at the outer edges and blending to the middle of the line.

EMBRACE OF CASHMERE – Scintillating light gold champagne

For the sultry, smokey effect I used a small blending brush to apply the darkest shade used in her look, RBR Long-lasting Eye Shadow in UMBER FIREFINCH, to the “V” of the outer corners of her lids. Then I blended everything together well with the Crease Brush 012 to avoid hard lines between the darker and lighter eye shadows and to soften the tone.

UMBER FIREFINCH – Iridescent dark umber chocolate

Lastly, we used the creamy Feline Gaze Eye Khol in shade ‘LOLA’ to draw a fine line along her upper and lower lashes, and smudging just a bit on the outer parts of the upper lash line. She didn’t need any mascara because she had just recently gotten gorgeous Eyelash Extensions.

FELINE GAZE EYE KHOL ‘DELILAH’ – Semi-matte aubergine, with a plum lustre

Frances looked Beyond Stunning with her ‘Beyond the Looking Glass’ inspired eye makeup look!

  1. Sue,
We agree with you on all points – Frances does look stunning, the shimmer and iridescent colors of RBR shadows are amazing and the taupe undertones in these shades are simply beautiful and just so much fun to play with! Thanks for commenting, we love to hear what you think and especially what you like 🙂
