SPECIAL FEATURE: My Sunday Morning Sunday Riley & Eve Lom Facial

Jenni reveals her secret Sunday morning facial for flawlessly smooth, toned and radiant skin

My custom skin care concoction, which is a combination of Sunday Riley and Eve Lom products, does the trick every single time!  It’s been going on 4 months now that I’ve been doing this at-home facial every Sunday morning, and can I just say that my skin feels and looks amazing afterwards; this facial restores vitality, brightens, smooth’s lines, and dramatically detoxifies my skin for an unparalleled glow.  I don’t see a change in this routine for a long LONG time.

  • Eve Lom Kiss Mix (8)

  • Sunday Riley Start Over Active Eye Cream (9)
  • Eve Lom Eye Cream (10)

Just a few additional notes before I get into the specifics of this facial…

– These products aren’t cheap!  However, Sunday Riley is my absolute favorite skin care brand and Eve Lom is quickly climbing that ladder.  I consider expensive, luxurious products like these a worthy investment, because they actually work!

– Technically, I begin the process on Saturday night with Eve Lom’s Rescue Mask – so if I’m being entirely accurate, this is actually my custom weekend facial.

– I can’t take full credit for the unique combinations of Sunday Riley products, as I learned most of these tricks from Sunday Riley herself.  No I don’t know Sunday personally (I wish :)) but instead I learned how to combine her products by reading many reports on Riley’s famous NY fashion week backstage mini-facials.  Here are a few of those highlights:

“Jason Wu had skincare aficionado Sunday Riley on hand to treat his models to mini-facials between hair and makeup, ensuring that their canvas would be clean and clear and ready for the runway.”

“Sunday Riley was on-site to provide a steamed mask of her Ceramic Slip cleanser mixed with Good Genes Treatment, which contains lactic acid and lemongrass to clarify and smooth skin while stimulating circulation.”

“Combining Good Genes with the Ceramic Slip Cleanser and applying as a mask, yields smooth, toned and radiant skin.”

“Riley administered mini facials on site: After cleansing with either her Charisma Creme or Ceramic Slip cleansers, she applied her Start Over Active Eye Cream to depuff.  Then, to deeply hydrate without leaving behind an oily residue, Riley blended her Juno Serum with her Skin Adrenaline concentrate—a light moisturizer—and massaged the mixture into the skin.”

Taking into account all these fabulous tips from the backstage mini-facials plus my own personal skin care needs (which is to combat redness, inflammation and irritation), I was able to come up with my own custom routine.  Basically I just incorporated a few luxuriously pampering Eve Lom products as well as replacing Ceramic Slip with Sunday Riley’s Stimulant II, a powerful and active anti-redness super booster.

So without further ado, here it is…

(Saturday Night)

On Saturday night (or anytime during the day) I use this emergency ‘rescue’ mask to get my skin back on track.   It’s a restorative, weekly deep clean for my irritable skin after a weeks worth of stress.  I love it, and I look forward to using it each week!

Rescue Mask Description:  Featuring Camphor, Almond and Honey-infused Kaolin Clay, it is the perfect weekly deep clean to keep your complexion in radiant condition. Rescue Mask is also on hand when skin becomes stressed and in need of extra help. Whether it’s blotchy, irritable breakouts, jet lag, or morning-after puffiness, this hard-working and versatile mask will get your skin back on track.

Rescue Mask Directions: Shake the tube well or stir the product with the spatula.  Apply a medium to thick layer to cleansed, dry skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave to set for approximately 20 minutes.  Remove by gently buffing the dry mask with your fingers using small upward circular motions, then rinse well with tepid water using a damp Muslin Cloth.

(Sunday Morning)

This lovely cleanser soothes, cleanses and softens my skin beautifully.  Kicking off Sunday (or any day) with the Morning Time Cleanser is pure ecstasy!  While I massage it around my face for several minutes, the aromatic cleansing oils wake up my skin with a truly fantastic sensory experience, all the while working to decongest my skin and stimulate collagen.

Although you don’t need to use a muslin cloth with the Morning Time Cleanser, I like to include it with my Sunday morning facial routine for an extra special ‘spa-like’ experience.  To incorporate the Muslin cloth, I just follow the directions for Eve Lom’s other fabulous cleanser, The Cleansing Balm. (see directions below)

Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser Description:  Two minute wash-off balm uses the four EVE LOM signature, aromatic cleansing oils, together with Papaya Fruit Enzyme and Carrot Oil to leave skin wonderfully radiant, refreshed and balanced.

    • Decongests and helps stimulate collagen production
    • Exfoliates, tones, brightens and minimizes the appearance of pores
    • Softens and encourages a youthful look

Eve Lom Muslin Cloth Directions:

    • Fill the basin with hot water and immerse the Muslin Cloth. Squeeze off excess water and hold the cloth over the face and neck for a few seconds while taking a deep breath. The heat will soften the skin and open the pores allowing the aromatic oils to cleanse the skin of impurities. For optimum results repeat this stage three times.
    • Fold the hot, rinsed cloth into a square and work it in small circular movements across the face and neck to remove all traces of Cleanser and make-up. The Muslin Cloth will gently exfoliate the skin surface and encourage healthy blood circulation, leave the skin feeling exceptionally smooth.
    • Finally rinse the cloth in cool water and hold over the face and neck. This helps close the pores, giving the skin a more even, toned appearance. It also leaves the skin feeling fresh and ultra clean.

This is my ultra-calming, anti-redness, anti-inflammatory, reverse UV damage and promote healthy blood flow & circulation super-fabulous-magical potion treatment!  Ha!…how do like that name?  Combining these two incredible corrective treatment products, reveals a brighter, newer and more vibrant complexion!

Stimulant II provides the soothing, healing and anti-inflammatory affects, while Good Genes fights UV damage, brightens complexion and promotes circulation for complete skin renewal.  Both work together to give me a vibrant, clear and calm complexion.

  1. I’m curious. Do you prefer the skin adrenaline over bionic? Which one would you recommend? I also ready your blog about sponge products. Have you tried any of their moisturizers and is there any you would reccomend?

  2. Jennifer,
Thanks for commenting and reading our blog! In response to your question – I really do love both Skin Adrenaline and Bionic, but to be honest I can substitute using different day creams instead of Skin Adrenaline and I don’t feel like i’m missing it too much. However, If I stop using Bionic even for a just a couple nights, I can see a difference in my skin right away – it just looks dull. So I guess my official answer would be that I prefer Bionic over Skin Adrenaline. But again, you can’t go wrong with either, they’re fabulous!
Also, Sponge Skincare is fantastic! The Rose Sage Cream is definitely my favorite cream, I hope you had a chance to read my review. I’ve also tried the Night Cream, the Day Cream, Ladi Avocanto oil and the Gel Basiliko (all of which I will review). I will say this, everyone that has tried Sponge products (per my recommendation) has absolutely loved them! I think the most popular (and my favorites as well) are the Ladi Avocanto oil, the Rose Sage Cream or Night Cream and the Cleanser (Gel Katharistiko). I’m totally obsessed with this cleanser, it’s a must-have product for me!

I hope all this helped you, if you have any other questions at all please feel free to ask!
    Thanks again for commenting.

  3. Thank you so much for your response Jenni! I will be getting the Bionic 🙂 Do you prefer the laid avokanto over the Juno oil? I am obsessed with Juno, but would like a cheaper alternative to use so I can switch them around. How would you describe the Ladi Avokanto? Does the Rose Sage cream have anti-aging ingredients in it? Also I am interested in the cleanser but would like to know which one you prefer. The Gel Katharistiko or Ceramic Slip?

  4. I would also like to know if Sunday RIley is still your favorite skincare brand. & if there are any products you are loving right now?
