Top 4 Under Eye Concealers: Part 2

Jenni updates her favorite under eye concealers posting, with her Top 4 Click-Stick Concealer Picks!

If you read my previous post on under eye concealers – “Jenni’s Top 4 Under eye Concealers” (here) – then you already know I’ve tried many, many, MANY (probably too many) different under eye concealers.  I have not found ‘the perfect’ one just yet, but I’ve realized there is no ‘perfect one’ since my skin, and in particular my under the eye skin, requires many different types of concealers for different situations.  Most days I just look at the condition of my under eye skin (puffy, dark circles, fine lines etc.) and grab one of my favorite click and/or stick concealers that counter acts whatever skin issue I’m battling that particular day.  Here are my top 4 click & stick under eye concealers for every situation…

The shades I use…

Product Descriptions…

There is a woodland corner in the Enchanted Garden, where it is never dark, bathed in a dreamy glow of a Delight Constellation. There, you may hear the gentle swish of winged-elfin creatures, collecting the soft-glowing star beams to spin their precious light-thread. They weave it into gossamer mantles, draped to illuminate shadows and smooth reflections.

Rouge Bunny Rouge artisans have recreated the secret of this light-spun material, producing a concealing wand to banish dark shadows and imperfections from your complexion. As you spread these wings of light, luminescence will adorn the precious fabric of your beauty. Banish the shadows of tiredness and restore the glow of love and light.

This lightweight reflective formula can be used on the face and under eye area as a skin treatment and concealer. Its light diffusing properties diminish fine lines and minor blemishes, creating a flawless finish. It disguises dark circles and fine lines with a unique active ingredient Haloxyl™ to give a long-term reduction of under eye darkness; smoothes away under eye area and reduces puffiness with Fermiskin, made from Shitake Mushroom Extract.

This Luminous Skin Wand also contains Vitamins A, C, E and B5 for a full pamper effect.

Small tricks:

For a truly natural look, use FINE-SPUN LIGHT alone, or under a fine dusting of powder. If using Liquid Foundation or tinted moisturiser, use the Luminous Skin Wand first.

To disguise dark circles under the eyes, apply Luminous Skin Wand with the brush applicator directly onto the skin, using small dots. Blend evenly with the RBR Concealer Brush (# 004). Use over PRELUDE IN THE CLOUDS for a soft and dewy finish that conceals whilst hydrating and smoothing away lines.

To cover blemishes, put a small amount on the back of the hand and blend over the blemish with a finger tip.

To reduce redness or other imperfections, use the brush applicator to dot a tiny amount onto the area and blend with the RBR Concealer Brush.

To create the perfect lip shape, put a small amount on the back of the hand and then brush it onto the outer contour of the lips with the RBR Lip Brush (# 010). Apply a dusting of Flawless Face Powder, then apply lip liner and lipstick and/or gloss.

To reduce the appearance of lines (especially those from the nose to the mouth), apply tiny dots down the wrinkle line and then blend with the RBR Concealer Brush.

This pen has been formulated to correct dark circles under the eyes and disguise signs of fatigue on the face. Softening, moisturising ingredients ensure excellent skin-care and diminish dark pigmentation in the under-eye area. Light-reflective particles reduce the appearance of brownish or bluish circles.

Application: Corrector Fluid is applied with the built-in brush directly on the eye area. Blend slightly with light touches of the fingertips; don’t sweep.

Orchidée Color Description:  Subtle pink. Camouflages brownish under-eye circles on pale to medium complexions with yellow undertones.

Well there’s no actual ‘winner’ but I’ve ranked all 4 concealers based on my experience and personal preferences, and I’ve listed the #1 quality (why it’s the best) each of these concealers possesses.  Starting with numero uno…

#1 – It’s a tie! For BEST OVERALL and BEST EVERYDAY I alternate between using Rouge Bunny Rouge Luminous Skin Wand and Chantecaille Biolift Concealer.  Both products allow for a quick & easy, everyday application.  I always achieve an even, flawless, light-medium coverage with these two ‘click & stick’ gems.

RBR Luminous Skin Wand – #1 in versatility.  It’s an excellent under eye concealer AND it can be used on blemishes, lip line, red spots or any other imperfections.  It’s super moisturizing on top of providing a silky-smooth, medium to full coverage.  It never sinks into fine lines and the pen-brush applicator is so soft and delicate to use under and around the eyes.  This favorite ‘click-stick’ of mine provides a beautiful and luminous finish that simultaneously covers up imperfections while brightening & illuminating the area.  I absolutely love it!

Chantecaille Biolift – #1 for ‘all-in-one’ eye cream/concealer.  No time to apply eye cream, then concealer and then a powder?  No need to worry with Biolift, because while it conceals dark circles – it also moisturizes with botanical Squalane, fights aging with anti-wrinkle hexapeptide and provides protection with SPF 10!  It’s literally the easiest and quickest under eye concealer ever made!  You don’t even need to blend it in – just a few swipes under the eyes (with or without any other makeup on) and your set to go face the day!  It’s definitely an everyday concealer because it gives a light to light/medium coverage, and so I do have to grab a different concealer for heavier makeup looks.  What I love most about Biolift is the fact that I can apply it anywhere, anytime of the day and whenever I need to freshen up.  Like I said in my previous under eye concealer review – I never leave home without this pretty little silver stick in my bag!

#2 – Wait a second here…it’s another tie!  For BEST DARK CIRCLE CORRECTOR (In a stick form) the prize goes to both YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch and T. LeClerc Corrector Fluid.  I use these handy click-up concealers during cold weather months when I’m most pale, and I need to cover up noticeable dark circles and/or correct tired looking eyes from lack of sleep.

YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch – #1 for concealing dark circles and discoloration.  I don’t know how YSL does it, but they continue to sit on top of the dark circle concealer thrown.  Once you’ve tried this formula, you will quickly know why it’s adored by many beauty enthusiasts and makeup artists alike.  This award-winning complexion highlighter really is ‘radiant boosting’ and I love the creamy finish that melts into my skin.  The only problem I have with Touche Éclat, is the shade.  I haven’t been able to match any of the shades available with my skin tone so that I can use it all year round.  Because of the strong undertones of either yellow or pink, if I have any sort of tan or my face has a warmer tone it, then YSL’s finish will appear too pink on my skin.  However, during the winter months when my skin is at its’ palest and those dark circles are most noticeable – the Touche Éclat is a life saver!  A must-have ‘click-stick’ concealer during the time of the year I need it most!

T. LeClerc Corrector Fluid – #1 for layering underneath other concealers.  This concealer is so incredibly light and airy, you never have to worry about it sinking into fine lines or becoming ‘cakey’ and breaking apart.  It glides on like water and absorbs into the skin at a nice speed.  I love the Orchidée shade because it’s a subtle pink that beautifully blends into my warm skin tone yet it covers my brown under eye circles due to its’ yellow undertones.  I typically don’t wear T. LeClerc by itself, because it’s a very subtle-light coverage and I like to use it better as a corrector.  This is the best concealer/corrector I’ve used before as a ‘base coat’ before applying another product.  Since it’s so light, you can use it first over any dark areas you may need some extra coverage on, and then you can layer anything else – foundation, tinted moisturizer, more concealer etc. – on top without worrying about ruining the finish with too much product.

Lastly, did you think I would forget to provide pictures? Never!

What these pictures really show best are the differences in textures between the four concealers.  RBR & Chantecaille finish creamier than YSL & T. LeClerc, which is exactly why I like them for everyday use – they are moisturizers/concealers all-in-one!

You may have also noticed the differences in shades, and that RBR & Chantecaille shades are warmer and match my skin better than YSL & T. LeClerc – which is why I tend to use the latter two in the winter when I’m more pale and I need to correct dark circles.
